5 Powerful Supplications for the Health and Happiness in this World
Allah ﷻ speaks to Muhammad ﷺ in the Holy Quran:
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.
[Al-baqarah: 186].
That feeling of we’re being protected, seen and have 24 hours attention of the Lord of the whole universe and beyond –is something truly amazing! With the abovementioned verse, it is clearly proven that Allah ﷻ is close to us at all times, and He hears and responds whenever we bow in front of Him in sujood and asks him to fulfill our needs.
This life is temporary, and all we want from life is that we pass through this world in our best of health and lead a happy and satisfied life. Indeed, all difficulties that we face come from Allah ﷻ but they are a purification process after which our souls are renewed and we become more steadfast in our faith if we pass those difficult times with perseverance. When faced with hard and troubled times, Allah ﷻ and his messenger Muhammad ﷺ, both have guided us very extensively on how to supplicate.
Duas for Health and Happiness
The very first desire of every person in this world is having a good health and success in all aspects of life. None of us wants to be called a failure and sick person. In Islam, we have been provided with plenty of health and success supplications that can be made after every salat, and when needed.
Dua for health and provision
“اللهم اغفر لي، وارحمني، واهدني، وعافني، وارزقني”
“O, Allah! Forgive me, and have mercy on me. Guide me, grant me health and provision
Dua for blessings and provision
“O Allah, forgive my sins, make my dwelling large, and bless whatever you give me. “
Dua asking for lawful provisions
ا“O Allah! Make me suffice in Your lawful provision from what You deem unlawful.
And enrich me, by Your bounty, from all other than You.” [Tirmidhi (3563)]
There is a special supplication that can be made when you are about to enter something crucial for your success;
Dua for victory and success
My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance
and to exit a sound exit
and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.
Pray by example of Allah ﷻ’s messengers and by keeping strong faith in Allah ﷻ Almighty for your Dua to be fulfilled
In the Holy Quran, Allah ﷻ has very beautifully highlighted how he answered the prayers of his messengers whenever they made a supplication; whether it was for good health or in difficult times. We should learn from the methods followed by all messengers of Allah ﷻ when they used to pray. For example, Prophet Ayyub (Job) (Peace Be Upon Him) made the following prayer asking Allah ﷻ to return his good health when he was in extreme pain due to a disease. Allah ﷻ narrates in the Holy Quran: (and (remember) Ayyub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: “Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy” (83) So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them as a mercy from Ourselves and a reminder for all those who worship Us).
Another example is of prophet Nuh (Noah) (Peace Be upon Him) who prayed to Allah ﷻ to seek refuge from his community’s oppression. ALLAH ﷻ almighty says in the Holy Quran:
وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
And to Nuh when he called us before this, then we listened to his prayer and delivered him and his family from severe torture.
And We helped him against a people who belied Our signs. Undoubtedly, They were devil people, so We drowned them all.
[Al-Anbiya: 76, 77].
Here it is important to note that when making dua for health and happiness or when in trouble, one should always remember the Hereafter, and that Allah ﷻ is Great and nothing disables him. It is in his full power that he answers our prayers or decides otherwise for us. Whatever he plans for us is the greatest and best of plans and we should not complain.
We must remember to do the following if we want our prayers to be answered:
Do good deeds
Pray with the hope that Allah ﷻ will listen to our prayer and keep the fear of Hellfire alive inside us so that we do not tread on the wrong path
Be humble when praying to Allah ﷻ Almighty
If your prayers are not answered then you must think about the following:
Do you have illegal Income?
Are you a very sinful person
Do you doubt Allah ﷻ and his mercifulness?
Are you too aggressive while supplicating?
Conclusion
Remember that Allah ﷻ will answer our prayers if we answer his call to us to come towards the Islam and follow it completely. If you want to be affirmative of being heard for your supplications, catch a journey for Umrah –the prayers and supplication made in front of Kaba won’t get missed.
At the end, I ask Allah ﷻ (SWT), the most Merciful, to bless all my fellow humans with good health and ample happiness and May Allah ﷻ Almighty keep us on the right path.
