Benefits of Dates in The Light of Islam: -
Dates are one of the most excellent foods that Allah has created for mankind. The small oval-shaped sweet bite-sized fruits are immensely abundant in nutritional value. Islam lays great stress upon the consumption of its. Allah wishes for the best of mankind. That is the reason why Islam orders to do what is in the best interest and refrain from all that is harmful to one.
Our prophet (PBUH) was greatly fond of dates. He used to eat dates with other fruits, vegetables or bread. Ajwa is among the most beneficial ones. Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: -
“Whoever eats seven dates of the High Land of Madinah in the morning will not be hurt by poison or sorcery on that day.”
This is among the fruits of Heaven as testified by the Holy Quran.
“And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighboring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees — growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things, there are signs for those who understand.” (Surah Al-Raad, verse 4)

This is an excellent source of fiber which helps in controlling blood sugar levels. Fiber also helps in improving digestion as it promotes regular bowel movements.

Helpful during pregnancy and labor: -
Form the Holy Quran it is evident that what science is establishing today, Allah had ordered us to do centuries ago. When Hazrat Maryam (AS) felt labor pains, Allah ordered her to eat dates to ease labor pains and assist in delivery.
“Do not grieve! Your Lord has provided a stream at your feet. And ˹if you˺ shake the trunk of this palm tree towards you, it will drop fresh, ripe dates upon you. So eat and drink, and put your heart at ease..” (Quran 19:24-26)
Today, doctors advise pregnant women to eat dates for the well-being of the fetus and the mother herself.
