Powerful Supplications for Hajj You Should Know
As the Hajj days inch closer, the anticipation grows and so does the excitement. It is a wonderful opportunity for the pilgrims to beg and implore their Creator for his boundless mercy. How do we make the most out of this chance? What are the powerful supplications for Hajj we must know? We share some of them with you in this article.
Importance of Supplications During Hajj
Is there a better place than the Holy Kabah to pray and supplicate? Hajj is a wonderful time to connect and let out everything within you to your Creator. Allah loves it when his subjects beg, cry, and implore to Him. During Hajj there are many instances where Allah especially listens to the prayers. He watches his subjects wandering helplessly and seeking Allah’s refuge. Only Allah can help them and bring them out of despair. Hence, Allah never returns any of his subjects empty-handed.

Powerful Supplications for Hajj
Here is a collection of some of the most impactful supplications for Hajj.
Dua For Ihram
Ihram is a state of purity a pilgrim must enter before crossing Miqat. When a person assumes Ihram, he must recite the following supplication.
“Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily, all praise, grace, and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner.”
This is also known as Talbiyah. Talbiyah is the constant recitation for Hajj. It is a declaration of a believer that he has submitted himself to Allah and that there is no God but Allah.
Dua For Traveling
When a person leaves home for the airport to travel for Hajj, he must recite the following supplication.
“Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return.”
Hajj is a very special journey. When you leave home, you must supplicate to Allah to get his blessings all along the way. Also, prayers protect from mishaps and unforeseen circumstances.
Takbir
Takbir is the declaration of Allah’s divine sovereignty. Apart from Talbiyah, Takbir is what pilgrims must recite all the time.
“Allah is the Greatest.”
Dua For Entering the Holy Mosque
Recite the following supplication as you enter Masjid-al-Haram:
“O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.”
This is one of the most precious moments of your journey. When you enter the House of Allah, your face is drenched with tears of joy, embarrassment and helplessness. It is a surreal state which cannot be explained in words. Supplicating at this point is very important as Allah wishes to reward his subjects for coming all the way to his House.
Dua For Tawaf
Recite the following supplication when doing Tawaf.
“Our Lord! We desire the good in this world and in the hereafter, so grant it to us and protect us from the tormenting hellfire.”
It was a practice of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to recite this supplication when performing tawaf. It is a very comprehensive supplication in which you ask for success in both worlds.
Dua For Sai
This is the supplication for Sai.
“There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone with no partner or associate, His is the dominion and to Him be praise, and He has power over all things.”
This is another golden opportunity to ask for anything from your Lord after making this supplication.
Dua For the Day of Arafat
Here is the supplication for the Day of Arafat.
“There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone with no partner or associate, His is the dominion and to Him be praise, and He has power over all things.”
The Day of Arafat is a big day. Worship and prayer on this day earns massive reward. It is a wonderful chance to gain spirituality and get close to Allah. Spend this day crying for Allah’s mercy. Beg for his blessings for you and your family this day. Pray for protection from the Fire of Hell and a blissful life in the Hereafter.
Dua For Muzdalifah
Supplication for Muzdalifah is as follows:
“My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy.”
After spending the day at Arafat, pilgrims head to Muzdalifah. They spend the night here in tents beneath the sky. They collect pebbles for stoning the devils the next day. Spending the night at Muzdalifah is a unique experience. The pilgrims get time to reflect on the reality of life. Every worldly thing seems trivial. One day all of us will go beneath this dark soil. Therefore supplicating for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the Day of Judgement is an important supplication at Muzdalifah.
Dua For Stoning at Jamarat
Some of the most common supplications for stoning at Jamarat are as follows:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed devil.”
“Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us…”
Stoning the devils at Jamarat is a ritual to commemorate the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Also, it affirms a believer’s resolve to obey Allah alone and reject the temptations of the devil. It is preferable to do stoning in the earliest hours of morning to avoid crowds.
Dua For Slaughtering Animal
Muslims recite the following dua when slaughtering animal:
Meaning: “With the Name of Allah, Allah is the Most Great! [O Allah, from You and to You.] O Allah, accept it from me.”
This is the last ritual of Hajj. After slaughtering the animal, the pilgrims wish each other the blessings of Eid and completion of Hajj. Muslims slaughter animals to honor the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It is also a display of devotion to Allah that Muslims are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of Allah.
