Masjid-e-Aisha

Also known as Masjid-e-Taneem, the mosque is situated just 5 miles away from the Holy Kabah. When pilgrims come to perform Umrah, they enter Masjid-e-Aisha wearing Ihram. Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) commanded Hazrat Aisha (RA) to perform Hajj here when he had come for Hujjatul Wida. Thereafter, the mosque was renamed Masjid-e-Aisha. Pilgrims offer prayers at this revered mosque. Non-muslims are not allowed inside the mosque.

Cave of Hira

One of the most popular places to visit in Makkah, the Cave of Hira is the place where our beloved Prophet used to spend days meditating. It was where he received his first revelation. Visiting this cave gives a surreal feeling. One thinks how our beloved Prophet would climb the Mountain of Light in search of divine truth and how he spent days and nights with barely enough food supplies.

Jannat al-Mualla

Jannat al-Mualla is situated at a 10-minute drive from the Holy Kabah. It is the cemetery where many members of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are laid to rest. His beloved wife, Hazrat Khadija, and uncle Hazrat Abu Talib are among them. The pilgrims visit the grave to pay respect to the dwellers of the cemetery.

Mount Arafat

Mount Arafat is one of the most significant landmarks in Islam. It is the plains of Arafat where Muslims gather for the sermon during Hajj. On the 9th Dhul Hijjah, the pilgrims climb Mount Arafat. It is also known as the Day of Arafat. The scenario resonates with what it might look like on the Day of Judgement when everyone would be standing in front of Allah, helpless and miserable. Similarly, the pilgrims cry and beg for forgiveness from Allah on this day. They supplicate to him and beg for his mercy.

Mount Arafat is one of the best places to visit in Makkah. It brings one closer to Allah and instills fear of the Day of Judgement.

Cave of Saur

When Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was migrating from Makkah to Madinah, traveling with Hazrat Abu Bakr, he sought refuge in a cave in Mount Saur. When they hid inside the cave, Allah commanded a pigeon to lay eggs at the entrance of the cave. Also, he ordered a spider to spin a web. The non-believers came and thought that the cave seemed deserted for a long time and could not possibly have Muhammad (PBUH) inside. Pilgrims visit this cave and think of the atrocities inflicted upon our beloved Prophet (PBUH). It reminds the pilgrims of the courage and steadfastness he showed to spread the message of Allah. Hence, the Cave of Saur is an important landmark in Makkah for the pilgrims to visit.
